The Rugby Wind Farm is expected to inject up to $28 million of economic activity into the Rugby and Boorowa regions during construction, and a further $2.7 million a year when operational. This will strengthen and diversify the regional economy, generate new streams of income for farmers and other local businesses, and provide income support for community services.
The project team is working hard to ensure that the local community benefits from the wind farm project. We will work with the community to design a Rugby Community Fund that will provide support for local projects and initiatives in the region.
We are working with the NSW Industry Capability Network to maximise local opportunities to provide materials and services for the wind farm project.
