community consultative committee

The Rugby Wind Farm Community Consultative Committee (the Committee) has been established to provide a forum for open discussion between representatives of the wind farm, the community, the Council and other stakeholders. The committee’s terms of reference can be found here.

In particular, the Committee will:

  • offer community insights into issues relating to the proposed wind farm;
  • help to identify opportunities for the community to benefit from the project; and
  • facilitate communication of relevant information to the broader community

The Committee is composed of a representative group of community stakeholders. The Rugby Wind Farm team would like to thank all members for their ongoing commitment and valuable contributions; Wendy Tuckerman (Mayor, Boorowa Council), Therese Manns (General Manager, Boorowa Council), Jayne Apps, Geoff Minchin, Janet Marchant, William Kelly, Leanne Crocker, Jenny Green, David Dwyer and Peta Jenkins.

We welcomed the opportunity to get further insights into the community's views about the proposal, and appreciate the contribution made by each Committee member. Topics covered included:

  • The revised wind farm design;
  • The Draft NSW Planning Guidelines: Wind Farms;
  • Health impacts;
  • Property values;
  • The training needed to secure local employment opportunities;
  • Transport routes;
  • Flora and fauna studies, and the Impact of the project on existing vegetation;
  • Size of turbines;
  • Fault lines and earthquakes; and
  • Substation location.
